Mopani wood is a dense African hardwood that releases tannins to tint aquarium water a light amber color, creating a natural "blackwater" look. This process slowly lowers pH and adds mild humic substances, which many tropical fish love.

BEFORE USE:  DO NOT BOIL this item - as the plant may not stay attached to the wood.

We recommend SOAKING this piece of wood in a bucket of water for a week before use to remove excess tannin that might make your aquarium too dark.  You can also run fresh carbon in your filter to control the tannin darkness.  

It's also great for Bettas, simulating the their natural habitat. Helps encourage natural behaviors like bubble nesting. Also works as a stress-reducer and hide when your Betta needs it.
